Jean graduated from Notre Dame Academy in 1946. She married Virgil in 1948, and raised five children. Mrs. Voss loved music and playing the piano, and instilled that love in both her children and grandchildren. She suffered the terrible loss of her daughter, Suzanne, to leukemia at the age of 18. Her grandchildren brought light back into her life. She also had a love for learning and shared that passion with students through her volunteer work as a reading tutor at Jefferson Grade School and St. Teresa Catholic Grade School. Jean was a member of St. Teresa Catholic Church, Belleville, IL.
She was preceded in death by her husband of almost 54 years, Virgil J. Voss, whom she married on September 11, 1948, and who died on August 8, 2002; one daughter, Suzanne Voss; and her parents, Raymond and Gertrude, nee Fiedler, Luehder.
Surviving are three sons, Gregory Voss of Belleville, IL,
Jack (Jane) Voss of Philadelphia, PA,
Tim (Elizabeth) Voss of Columbus, OH;
one daughter, Jeannine Gonzalez of Belleville, IL;
six grandchildren, Lauren Voss,
Rachel (Andrew) Tarnef,
Blair (Jason) Izworski,
Nathan (Amanda) Voss,
Emily (Chris) Midgett,
and Natalie Gonzalez;
six great-grandchildren, Vivienne and Liam Midgett,
Madison, Jillian and Alexis Izworski,
and Henry Tarnef;
one sister, Janis (Tom) LeChien;
one brother-in-law, Leo (Mina) Voss;
numerous nieces, nephews;

Funeral: Funeral procession will leave at 9:40 a.m. Saturday, April 2, 2016, from George Renner & Sons Funeral Home, Belleville, IL, for a 10 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial at St. Teresa Catholic Church, Belleville, IL, with Father Anthony Onyango officiating. Burial will be at Green Mount Catholic Cemetery, Belleville, IL.
