Jeannine Ann Buehlhorn, nee Keim, 91, of Belleville, IL, born October 16, 1929, in Belleville, IL, died Friday, April 16, 2021, at St. Elizabeth’s Hospital, O’Fallon, IL.

Jeannine was a graduate of the Academy of Notre Dame, Belleville, IL, a secretary with the Schickedanz Agency, and retired after 26 years from St. Elizabeth’s Hospital, her second home.  After retirement she worked as part of the Dairy Queen family in Swansea, IL.  She was on the Board of Directors for Little Knights Football League in Belleville, a longtime bowler and secretary of the WIBC, a member of St. Teresa’s Catholic Church, Belleville, IL, one of the most avid St. Louis Cardinal fans on the planet, and a strong advocate for the Epilepsy Foundation of Greater Southern Illinois.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 46 years, Milton E. Buehlhorn, whom she married May 29, 1948, and who died on June 18, 1994; her parents, Irvin “Doc” and Velma, nee Schuline, Keim; a sister, Joyce (Harold) Nast; her father-in-law and mother-in-law, Arthur and Mary, nee Schneider, Buehlhorn; a brother-in-law, Russell (Rita) Buehlhorn; a sister-in-law, Mary Keim; and a grandson, Justin Raterman.

She is survived by her brother, Jim (Vivian) Keim;
five sons, Michael (Marilyn) Buehlhorn, Jeff (Beth) Buehlhorn, Rick (Cheryl) Buehlhorn, David Buehlhorn, and Chris (Janel) Buehlhorn;
11 grandchildren, Jenifer Buehlhorn, Brian (Jeanine) Buehlhorn, Brad (Anna) Buehlhorn, Jeremy (Amy) Buehlhorn, Kari (Todd Burk) Buehlhorn, Kristina (Colby) Crook, Mary Buehlhorn, Joshua (Ashley) Raterman, Jessica (Gabe Farmer) Raterman, Alex Buehlhorn, and Brittany (Kyle) Bartholomew;
numerous great- grandchildren;
and nieces and nephews.

Memorials may be made to the Epilepsy Foundation of Greater Southern Illinois or to Little Knights Football Club. Condolences may be expressed to the family online at www.rennerfh.com.

 Visitation: Friends may visit from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, April 21, 2021, at George Renner & Sons Funeral Home, Belleville, IL, and from 9 to 10 a.m. Thursday, April 22, 2021, at St. Teresa Catholic Church, Belleville, IL. Standard CDC guidelines, including masks and social distancing and a limited number of visitors at any one time, will be observed.

Funeral: A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, April 22, 2021, at St. Teresa Catholic Church, Belleville, IL, with Msgr. David Darin officiating.

Burial will be at Green Mount Catholic Cemetery, Belleville, IL.

To the BuehlhornFamily We want to express our deepest sympathy to Jeannine’s family.we spent 30 years as neighbors with so many wonderful memories. We had the girls and you the boys, what fun they had those summer days and of course football night with Rick.we still consider you as family.We are so sorry for the lost of your mom but she is always with you. My sincere condolences for all of you. Jeanne was an amazing woman. I remember her with her baskets she made for LK functions. One time she made one for me because I could never win one. Her peanut squares were amazing. She was an awesome baker. You are all in my prayers. Love to all.

So many fond memories of growing up in Castle Acres and all of our sporting activities as we got older. She will definitely be missed. Wish I could be there in person. My sympathies to all of you.
