Print Obituary
Jeffrey Keith Harvey, 62, of Belleville, IL, born June 5, 1957, in Peoria, IL, died Friday, August 30, 2019, at Barnes Hospital, St. Louis, MO.

Jeff was kind, compassionate, caring, driven, and creative. He lived a full and rich life, traveling to almost every corner of the globe helping to bring music and joy to countless people. He began his professional life providing technical, lighting, and equipment support to musicians and bands that included Arrow Memphis, the Charlie Daniels Band, Styx, and as road manager for the Ricky Skaggs band. He transitioned to working as a show producer for the USO, traveling on every mode of transportation known to man in order to get to show sites around the world to bring entertainment to our service members. He brought along rock stars, movie stars and models to spread cheer to military women and men on bases and front lines everywhere. Jeff was also a gifted painter and visual artist. His childlike wonder at the world and love for people shone through in his relationships, his art, and in his never-ending drive to make others feel good, even as he experienced increasing physical limitations and illness in his own life. Jeff is universally remembered by those who knew him as a “great soul”, and one of the kindest and most generous people they have ever encountered. He was a loving partner, fiancé, son, brother, and uncle, and was unfailingly devoted to his family, friends, and loved ones.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Lloyd K. “Moe”, and Sarah J., nee Sprague, Harvey; and a brother, Brian A. Harvey.

He is survived by his partner and fiancée, Kim Campbell-Christ;
a sister, Susan Harvey;
a brother, Patrick (Nora) Harvey;
a nephew, Miguel (Pamela) Harvey;
a niece, Rachel (fiancée Erin Strong) Harvey;
and his beloved great-nephews, Dylan and Gram Harvey.

My condolences to family and friends of Jeff Harvey. We attended high school together and were great friends for several years hanging out together, going to concerts and the like. After high school we would reconnect whenever Arrow Memphis was performing including several shows in and around Carbondale. We ended up going our separate ways as people often do but it was no surprise to hear Jeff was working with the USO. He always seemed to put others first and knowing that he brought fun and laughter to so many makes me proud to call him friend. Bon Voyage “Mo” see you on the other side.

Dear Harvey Family, In grief we find anger and all emotions, The Edwards clan loved Jeff. From my granddaughter Amanda in Japan and brother John in Oahu, and even me in Tucson. He tried and did make us have a great time with the USO. He was probably my brother's best friend. John having health issues of his own right now preventing him from traveling. But rest assured you and your family are in our thoughts and prayers. Bless the Life Of Jeff Harvey. One of a kind. !! Glad I knew him for a time.

Our Precious Jeffy’s Soul was a light that out grew his body. It comforts me through my faith that he gets to run to his Mother’s loving arms. Where there is no pain, no tears, just love and light

I am very sorry to hear of Jeff’s passing. My condolences to the family. I was Jeff’s 6th grade science teacher at Belle Valley South School. Susan, I taught you as well. I can picture Jeff and Susan as 6th grade students. We all had a lot of fun and learned science too. I really appreciate Jeff’s work with the USO. Having served in the Army from 1971-1973, I know the importance of their service. I am sorry for your loss. I wish you well
