Jenny knew how to live life to the fullest from a young age. There were few things she loved more than pool days with her family or vacations to Gulf Shores; she was up before dawn to get the best deals every Black Friday; and her room was a constant work-in-progress thanks to her and Kathy’s love for DIY projects. After graduating from Althoff Catholic High School, Jenny went on to earn her Bachelor’s Degree in Communications from Southern Illinois University Edwardsville and two Master’s Degrees at Lindenwood University.
As an adult, not much changed: She was still happiest poolside or at the beach; she lived for a good bargain (or, in Kyle’s words, “using her Shady Lady math”); and not a day went by that Jenny wasn’t planning, prepping, or executing a project at home. Jenny grew from a charming, exuberant girl into a charismatic and selfless young woman. She organized the annual Kathy’s Crazy Christmas Bus in honor of her mom, which raised funds for Siteman Cancer Center and other foundations. Her commitment to helping others with cancer only deepened when she took a position with Siteman in 2015. Jenny was also a member of Junior Service Club of St. Clair County, through which she spent hundreds of hours giving back to her community.
While Jenny excelled at everything she did, her greatest accomplishment was her family. Jenny and Kyle were married on October 1, 2016, a day that was filled with all the beauty and detail that only Jenny could dream up. She found the perfect partner in Kyle, who gave in to her love of huge dogs but kept her grounded in every other way. She was the most patient and loving mother to Grady and Tess, and she treasured every moment with them. Everything Jenny did was for her family; she loved them fiercely, just as they loved her.
Jenny’s time with us was too short, but her 33 years were filled with more love, more friendship, and more passion than most people will ever know. She was the girl who didn’t let a broken foot ruin her semester abroad in Ireland. She was the girl who sang Janis Joplin at the top of her lungs and knew an impressive amount of ‘Roseanne’ trivia facts. Her smile was always the brightest in the room, her laughter was absolutely infectious, and her heart was pure gold. She will be deeply missed, but the light she radiated throughout her life ensures that her presence will always be felt.
Jenny was preceded in death by her mother, Kathleen Anne Baudendistel, nee McDaniel; and her grandparents, Fred McDaniel, Edwin Baudendistel, Gerry Miller, and Jerry and Garvin Pabst.
