Jeremy Lake, 39, of Freeburg, IL, born February 10, 1982, in Belleville, IL, died Saturday, January 8, 2022, in Freeburg, IL.

Jeremy worked as a mechanic at Weber Chevrolet, Columbia, IL.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Ray and Dorothy Lauer, and Vernon and Nadine Lake; and an uncle, Richard Lake.

Surviving are his children, Aubrey and William Lake; his parents, Robert and Rita Lake; a sister, Jessica (Tobey) Morton; the mother of his children, Laura Lake; his girlfriend, Dori Neighbors; a nephew, Julien Morton; and aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Memorials may be made to Aubrey and William Lake’s College Fund, c/o Laura Lake, or to St. Joseph Catholic Church, Freeburg, IL. Condolences may be expressed to the family online at www.rennerfh.com.

Visitation: Friends may visit from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday, January 13, 2022, and from 9 to 10 a.m. Friday, January 14, 2022, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Freeburg, IL. Masks are required.

Funeral: A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10 a.m. Friday, January 14, 2022, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Freeburg, IL, with Fr. Von Deeke officiating. Masks are required.

Burial will be at Green Mount Catholic Cemetery, Belleville, IL.

Robert and Rita I am so sorry to hear of Jeremy’s passing. No parent should ever have to bury their child but please know my thoughts are with you and Jeremy’s children. I’ll always remember what a sweet young man he was at Cathedral.
