Joan worked as a cook for both St. Albert the Great Catholic Grade School in Fairview Heights, IL and for School of the Osage in Lake Ozark, MO from where she retired. Joan and her husband, Roland lived for many years and raised their family in Belleville, IL until 1980 when on vacation they fell in love with the Lake of the Ozarks and decided to make their home there. Gracious hosts, Joan and Roland took every opportunity they could to entertain and invite their many friends and family members to join them at their lake home for vacations, parties, and celebrations. Joan was a dedicated member of Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church and was an active volunteer in their many organizations. A devout woman of faith, Joan enjoyed making her home this last year and a half at St. Francis Center at the Esquiline Apartment Community at the Shrine of Our Lady of the Snows where she could walk to church and was able to make many more dear friends.
