Joan E. Jung, nee Frech, 90, of Swansea, IL, born April 18, 1933, in New Athens, died Monday, April 1, 2024, at her residence.

Mrs. Jung worked as a bookkeeper for the family business at J&K Towing & Service Inc. Joan and her husband were avid bowlers. She loved to play cards and bingo, especially with her sister, Carol.

She was preceded in death by her husband, James “Jim” R. Jung, whom she married on April 18, 1953, and who died on August 15, 2010; her parents, Clarence and Violet, nee Schrag, Frech, a sister, Nancy Stein, and her brother, Gary Frech.

She is survived by a daughter, Kimberly Jung (fiancé Brian Moran); two sons, Kevin (Connie) Jung and Lester (Deanna) Jung; six grandchildren, Justin Jung, Jade Lane, Katherine Larson, Michael Jung, Tabatha Jung and Nicole Jung; nine great-grandchildren; and a sister, Carol Grohmann of Belleville, IL.

Memorials may be made to Hospice of Southern Illinois or the Alzheimer’s Association. Condolences may be expressed to the family online at www.rennerfh.com.

Visitation:  Friends and family may visit from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday, April 4, 2024, and from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. Friday, April 5, 2024, at George Renner & Sons Funeral Home, Belleville, IL,

Funeral: Funeral services will be held at 9:30 a.m. Friday, April 5, 2024, at George Renner & Sons Funeral Home, Belleville, IL, with Msgr. William McGhee officiating.

Burial will be at Lake View Memorial Gardens, Fairview Heights, IL.

Sorry for your loss. I've grown to love her. We shared a lot of memories together .My job here at St.pauls is rewarding and special to me, I really do care and will continue to make them happy. God Bless you all. Once again sorry for your loss, with tears I'm going to miss her.
