Joann Himstedt, nee Costello, 87, of Freeburg, IL, born November 18, 1934, in East St. Louis, IL, passed away on Saturday, October 22, 2022, in Freeburg, IL.

Joann graduated from Notre Dame Academy and attended Maryville University.  She worked with her husband at the business they founded, Himstedt Roofing, Inc.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert Emmett and Johanna, nee Erwin, Costello; and her siblings, Bob Costello, Elaine Brady, and Bill Costello.

She is survived by her husband of 67 years, Henry Himstedt; three children, Henry Himstedt Jr., John Himstedt, and Kathy (Bruce) Stein; and her four grandchildren, Charlie Parrish, Ainslie Parrish, Aidan Parrish, and Maci Stein.

Wimpy, Hank, John, Kathy, I am so sorry to hear about Joann. I think back about all of the good times we had. I remember when Joann and I went to see “ Riverdance.” She was so proud of her Irish heritage. I remember your Belleville house, with the pond. I will miss her smiles and laughter.
