John Paul Burton, 50, of Belleville, IL, born August 13, 1965, in Belleville, IL, died Friday, November 13, 2015, at St. Elizabeth’s Hospital, Belleville, IL.

John worked for Minton Outdoor Services, Belleville, IL.  He enjoyed fishing, barbecuing, drawing sketches, and hanging out with his family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his father, Robert Burton Sr.; and his mother and stepfather, Elizabeth “Betty”, nee Schmidt, and William Hanvey.

Surviving are his wife, Sheila, nee Brandt, Burton, whom he married on August 17, 2013;
his son, Jeremy Cain (Jami Kelley);
a brother, Robert “Bobby” Burton Jr.;
a sister, Yvonne (Marshall) Floyd;
special sisters and brother, Kristina Wallace, Kymberly Williams,
Angela (Daniel Sr.) Dink, and Sonny Knowles;
another special mom, Barbara Torpea-Whaley;
his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Jim and Kathy Brandt;
a sister-in-law, Jamie (Steve) Mank;
two special friends, Kim Kinder and Brad Bell;
numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins;
many friends from the League Lounge;
and his beloved dog, Precious.

John’s family extends a special thank you to the SLU team and the ICU team at St. Elizabeth’s Hospital.

Visitation:  Friends may call from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.  Saturday, November 21, 2015, at George Renner & Sons Funeral Home, Belleville, IL.

Funeral:  A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, November 21, at the funeral home.
