John “Jack” C. Meehan Jr, 85, of Belleville, IL, born December 18, 1931, in East St. Louis, IL, passed away Saturday, January 7, 2017, at Oak Hill Nursing Home, Waterloo, IL.

Mr. Meehan was an engineer for McDonnell Douglas for more than 25 years prior to his retirement. He was a member at Our Lady Queen of Peace, Belleville, IL, and an United States Air Force and Korean War veteran.  Jack was an avid golfer, enjoyed fishing, exercising at Kings Point, watching sports on television, and thoroughly enjoyed his grandchildren’s sporting activities.

Jack was preceded in death by his parents, John C. and Agnes E., nee Bach, Meehan; a grandson, Freddie Mueller; a granddaughter, “Widget”, in infancy; and a brother, Gerald Meehan.

Surviving are his wife of 64 years, Roberta L., nee Leiner, Meehan, whom he married on August 9, 1952;
his children, Michael J. Meehan, of Belleville, IL,
Barbara J. (Barry) Mueller of Columbia, IL,
Timothy P. Meehan, of Waterloo, IL,
Richard E. Meehan of University City, MO,
and David J. (Karen) Meehan of Waterloo, IL;
five grandchildren, Brian, Brett, and Blake Mueller,
and Chloe and Connor Meehan;
nieces, nephews and cousins.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to American Parkinson Disease Association (APDA), 660 South Euclid Avenue, St. Louis MO 63110, Althoff Catholic High School, or Our Lady Queen of Peace Parish.  Condolences may be expressed to the family online at www.rennerfh.com.

Visitation:  Friends may visit with the family from 3 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, January 11, 2017, and from 9 to 10 a.m. Thursday, January 12, 2017, at Our Lady Queen of Peace Catholic Church, Belleville, IL.

Funeral:  A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, January 12, 2017, at Our Lady Queen of Peace Catholic Church, Belleville, IL.  Burial with military honors will be at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery, St. Louis, MO.
