Mr. Schweiger was a U. S. Army World War II veteran.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Elaine Schweiger in infancy; his parents, John J. and Margaret, nee Dambacher, Schweiger; a brother, Kenneth Schweiger; and a sister, Marie Scher.
Surviving are his wife of 65 years, Marion L., nee Klann, Schweiger, whom he married on August 30, 1952;
four children, Kathy Schweiger, Laurie (Gary) Kuklinski, Donna (Rick) Holesinger, and John R. (Michelle) Schweiger;
seven grandchildren, Chris (Courtney) Kuklinski, Dr. Cadence (Adam Luechtefeld) Kuklinski, Scott Vanderwerf, Molly Johnson, Samantha Johnson, Natalie Schweiger, and Jonathan Schweiger;
three great-grandchildren, Cali Kuklinski, Gideon Luechtefeld and Malcolm Luechtefeld;
a brother, Robert Schweiger;
a sister, Margaret Ann Schwaegel;
a brother-in-law, George (Sharon) Klann;
a sister-in-law, Sharon Motes;
nieces and nephews;
and family friend, Pamela King.

Funeral: A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10 a.m. Monday, March 26, 2018, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Freeburg, IL, with Fr. Mark Reyling officiating.
Burial with military honors will follow at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery, Freeburg, IL.
