John L. Westlund, 64, of Saint Louis, MO, formerly of Belleville, IL, born October 14, 1951, in Fairbanks, AK, died Monday, July 25, 2016, at his residence in Saint Louis.

John was a retired registered nurse.  Before his retirement, he had worked at Barnes Jewish Hospital, Forest Park Hospital, and De Paul Hospital, all in Saint Louis.  John was a photography enthusiast and also enjoyed time spent playing billiards.

He was preceded in death by his parents, John W. and Mary L., nee Genin, Westlund.

Surviving are his wife, Josephine M. “Jo,” nee Dizer, Westlund;
his children, John R. Westlund, of Corpus Christi, TX,
Megan N. Westlund, of Saint Louis, MO
and Joseph “Joey” Powell, of Belleville, IL;
a granddaughter, Avaleigh Westlund;
a sister, Susan (Walter) Connors of Mill Creek, IN;
two brothers, Steven (Denise) Westlund of Shiloh, IL,
and Ron (Grace) Westlund of Willits, CA;
seven nephews, James Idoux, Matthew (Tabitha) Idoux, Daniel Westlund, Andrew Westlund, Erik Westlund, John Westlund and Rob Westlund;
and two great-nephews, Ethan and Lucian Idoux.

Visitation:  Friends may visit with the family from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. Saturday, July 30, 2016, at St. Augustine of Canterbury Catholic Church, Belleville, IL.

Funeral:  A Memorial Service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, July 30, 2016, at St. Augustine of Canterbury Catholic Church, Belleville, IL, with Msgr. William McGee officiating.

Burial will follow at Mt. Carmel Catholic Cemetery, Belleville, IL.
