Joseph O. Baumann, 87, of Belleville, IL, born December 30, 1935, in Belleville, IL, died Friday, July 21, 2023, at St. Elizabeth’s Hospital, O’Fallon, IL.

Joseph was a very kind, fair, and generous man. He loved riding his motorcycle, hunting and spending time with his family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Margaret, nee Sauer, Baumann; his sister, Margaret Schilling; and a brother-in-law, Butch Bujnak.

Surviving are his loving wife of 62 years, Josefa G., nee Gonzalez, Baumann; his three children, Quintina Baumann, Richard (Amy) Baumann, and Cecilia (Frank) Allen; a granddaughter, Jessica (Zachary) Lane; two great-grandchildren; and his brothers, sisters, nieces, nephews, and other family members.

Visitation:  Friends may visit from 5 to 7 p.m. Monday, July 24, 2023, at George Renner & Sons Funeral Home, Belleville, IL.

Funeral: A memorial mass will be held at a later date.

Truly a great guy, I worked in Facilities Mananagement for many at SAFB , we worked many projects together. May he rest in peace.🙏🏻

Joe was a great guy! He was my supervisor at SAFB for 10 years, but our friendship was longer than that. Not only did we work together, we were friends. We rode motorcycles, had many conversations of life and people. Joe always visited with my co workers and all my friends at our gatherings. I wish I could’ve known his family, so many good memories and feelings I could pass along. Joe, I love you my old friend. But, you know that!
