
Joe was a dedicated husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He was born and raised in Belleville, IL, and was a life-long member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church. He proudly served his country in the Army and was a dedicated employee of Union Electric (Ameren) for 40 years.
He loved traveling with his family in his motorhome and meeting new people. He loved to read and shared many stories. He was well-versed in many subjects. Joe was an avid Cardinal baseball fan and rarely missed listening or watching a game. He was very compassionate to everyone he met; he always had a smile to share and a kind word to offer. Joe will be dearly missed.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 71 years, Aurelia Ida Glauber, nee Bauer, whom he married on April 20, 1949, and who passed away on August 8, 2020; his son, Joseph C. Glauber, Sr.; his parents, Joseph and Anna Marie Glauber; a brother, Eugene (Ann) Glauber; and three sisters, Sister Francis Paula Glauber, SSND, Rita (Martin) Degenhardt, and Margaret Virginia Glauber, in infancy.
Surviving are three sons, Jeffery (Doris) Glauber, Jamie Glauber, and John (Kate) Glauber, all of Belleville, IL; his daughter, June (Scott) Hamilton of Aviston, IL; a daughter-in-law, Sue Glauber of Belleville, IL; eight grandchildren, Dawn Glauber, Angie Karstens, Joseph (Blair) Glauber, Jr., Margaret Glauber, Jay (Michele) Glauber, Laura (Roger Bieri) Radford, Riley Hamilton, and Josie Hamilton; nine great-grandchildren; Madilin and Brock Karstens, Joseph and James Glauber, Lily, Jackson, and Sadie Glauber, Avery Radford, and Emersyn Bieri; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Visitation: Friends may visit from 9:30 to 10 a.m. Saturday, January 15, 2022, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Belleville, IL. Masks are required.
Funeral: A Memorial Mass for Joseph and Aurelia will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, January 15, 2022, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Belleville, IL, withFr. Michael Arockiam and Msgr. William McGhee concelebrating. Masks are required.
Private burial will be at Lake View Memorial Gardens, Fairview Heights, IL.
