Josh was the parts and service manager at Weir Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram, New Athens, IL. He was an avid fisherman and hunter and loved the demolition derby. Josh especially enjoyed spending time with his children.
Josh was preceded in death by his father, Bill “Doc” Dachsteiner; his maternal grandparents, Richard and Kathryn, nee Nesbit, Dilport; and a father-in-law, Bob Babcock.
He is survived by the mother of his children, JoElle, nee Babcock, Dachsteiner; three children, Tate Dachsteiner, Cole Dachsteiner, and Kathryn “Katie” Dachsteiner; his mother, Barbara A., nee Dilport, Dachsteiner; five brothers, Billy Dachsteiner, Jr, Brian (Amy) Dachsteiner, Brad Dachsteiner, Jerradd (Kelly) Dachsteiner, and Chad Dachsteiner; a sister, Emily (Carl) Kempfer; a brother-in-law, Jeremy (Brittany) Babcock; numerous nieces and nephews; and many good friends.

Visitation: Friends may visit with the family from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday, September 16, 2021, at George Renner & Sons Funeral Home, Freeburg, IL. Standard CDC guidelines will be followed, including masks and social distancing.
Funeral: Funeral procession will leave at 10:30 a.m. Friday, September 17, 2021, from George Renner & Sons Funeral Home, Freeburg, IL, for an 11 a.m. funeral service at St. John United Church of Christ, New Athens, IL, with Pastor Robert Koch officiating. Standard CDC guidelines will be followed, including masks and social distancing.
Burial will be at a later date.
