
Joyce was born in East St. Louis, IL, and raised in O’Fallon, IL. She graduated from O’Fallon Township High School and Southern Illinois University Carbondale. Joyce married Robert Dintelmann on August 31, 1957. She was primarily a homemaker, but also taught elementary school in New Jersey, Cahokia, and Belleville.
Mrs. Dintelmann was a loving and caring person to her family and all whom she encountered. She was a member of Union United Methodist Church, Belleville, IL, and served others through her many activities at the church. Joyce was a choir member for over 40 years, the Ruth quilting circle, and the United Methodist Women’s Group. She was past president of Turkey Hill Grange where she was a member for over 50 years and very active with the annual dinners and kitchen events. Joyce received the Belleville Citizens of Character award in 2009.
She was preceded in death by a son, Craig R. Dintelmann; her parents, Leslie L. and Inez C., nee Haig, Kuhlmann; and a brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Richard L. and Joyce A. Dintelmann.
Surviving are her loving husband of 64 years, Robert H. Dintelmann;
five children, son, Keith (Stephanie) Dintelmann of Belleville, IL,
and their children, Paige Dintelmann (fiancé, Tyler Garretson), and Zachary (Rachel) Dintelmann,
and their child, Logan;
son, Kent (Joni) Dintelmann of Belleville, IL,
and their children, Nicholas, Janey, Holly, Noah (fiancée Aliyah Smith), Abby and Caroline;
daughter, Katherine (Richard) Rahilly of Destin, FL,
and their children Tre and Isabella Rahilly;
daughter, Laurel (Jeffery) Foerste of Martinez, CA,
and their children, Katie and Lily;
and son, Paul (Julliette) Dintelmann of Belleville, IL,
and their children, Eliana, Riley Joyce, Jackson, and Evanee;
a sister, Janet (Rev. Miley) Palmer of Decatur, IL;
and many nieces and nephews.

Visitation: Friends may visit from 4 to 8:30 p.m. Thursday, January 13, 2022, and from 9 to 10 a.m. Friday, January 14, 2022, at Union United Methodist Church, Belleville, IL, Sanctuary parking located behind the church off East A and Delmar Streets. A Turkey Hill Grange service will be held at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Masks are required.
Funeral: Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, January 14, 2022, at Union United Methodist Church Belleville, IL, with Rev. Edward Weston officiating. Masks are required. The funeral service will also be available via livestream at https://www.youtube.com/user/Kent5122
