Julia Hoefler, nee Hayes, 56, of Dupo, IL, born November 1, 1966, in Belleville, IL, passed away Tuesday, May 9, 2023, at her residence.

Julia attended St. Teresa Catholic Grade School and graduated from Althoff Catholic High School, both in Belleville, IL. She held a bachelor’s degree in special education from S.I.U. Edwardsville and taught for the Illinois Center for Autism, Fairview Heights, IL, and later became a caregiver with Home Instead Senior Care.  Her clients absolutely adored her.  She enjoyed music, especially Ozzy, Cardinal Baseball and St. Louis Blues hockey and she had a love for the great outdoors and astronomy.  Julia had a big heart, was fun loving, and will be missed by all who knew her.

She was preceded in death by her father, Julious Hayes; her father-in-law, Erwin Hoefler; and a sister-in-law, Kim Hoefler.

Surviving are her husband, John Hoefler; three children, Johnathon Hoefler, Michael Hoefler, and Christina Hoefler; her mother, Carol, nee Kinkelaar, Hayes; a sister, Lynn (Anthony) Shelton; a brother, Steven (Marceline) Hayes; her mother-in-law, Diane Hoefler; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Alicia Hoefler, Brian Hoefler, Chuck Hoefler, Leann Mitchell, and Erin Hoefler; nieces and nephews, Jamie (Dakota) Wise, Christopher (Tammy) Shelton, Justin, Dylan, Dustyn, Hayley, Layla, Isabell, and Anthony; many other nieces and nephews; and her fur babies, Gigi and Georgie.

Visitation:  Friends may visit from 2 to 4 p.m. Saturday, May 13, 2023, at George Renner & Sons Funeral Home, Belleville, IL.

Funeral:  Funeral services will be at 4 p.m. Saturday, May 13, 2023, at George Renner & Sons Funeral Home, Belleville, IL, with Pastor Jay Shoff officiating.

Burial will be held at a later date.

It's belated, but I am truly sorry about your loss. I knew Julia through Jonathan. We exchanged cards and small gifts. I know what she meant to you all. Please look out for each other in the wake of her passing.
