Kenneth C. Siegel, 95, of Belleville, IL, born September 7, 1923, in Belleville, IL, died Saturday, July 6, 2019, at Dammert Geriatric Center, Belleville, IL.

Mr. Siegel received his bachelor’s degree from the University of Illinois, where he also lettered on the football team.  Kenneth was a sales engineer for Nooter Corporation, St. Louis, MO, before his retirement in 1984.  He loved playing games, especially pinochle and euchre, as well as bingo and washers.  He was a member of the Toastmaster’s Club, the Smithton Sportsmen’s Club, and the T & T Golf League.  Ken was an avid Fighting Illini Football fan and adored his friends and family.  He was a member of Union United Methodist Church, and was a U.S. Navy veteran.

Ken was preceded in death by his parents, Carl P. and Edna M., nee Magin, Siegel; and a brother, Donald P. (Jean) Siegel.

Surviving are his wife of 69 years, Margie, nee Stapf, Siegel, whom he married on November 26, 1949;
his four children, Ned Siegel of Belleville, IL, Dan (Judy) Siegel of Belleville, IL, Jim (Wendy) Siegel of Alpharetta, GA, and Tom (Cindy) Siegel, of Belleville, IL;
seven grandchildren, Justin (Allison) Siegel of St. Louis, MO, Derek (Molly) Siegel of Belleville, IL, and Andrew (Jenni) Siegel of St. Louis, MO, Brigette Siegel and Blake Siegel, both of Alpharetta, GA, Luke Siegel of San Diego, CA, and Paige Siegel of Chicago, IL;
four great-grandchildren, Natalie, Jack, Konnor, and Ellison Claire;
and nieces and nephews.

Memorials may be made to the Dammert Geriatric Center or to the charity of the donor’s choice. Condolences may be expressed to the family online at www.rennerfh.com.

Visitation: Friends may visit with the family from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday, July 11, 2019, at George Renner & Sons Funeral Home, Belleville, IL, and from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. Friday, July 12, 2019, at The Esquiline Apartment Community Chapel, Belleville, IL.

Funeral:  Funeral services will be held at 9:30 a.m. Friday, July 12, 2019, at The Esquiline Apartment Community Chapel, Belleville, IL.

Burial will be at Walnut Hill Cemetery, Belleville, IL.

I met Ken when my sister married into the Siegel family. He welcomed me into the family enthusiastically. I especially enjoyed Ken’s sense of humor. I was a better person for having known Ken Siegel.
