Kenneth Steed

Print Obituary
Kenneth E. Steed, 65, of Belleville, IL, born August 13, 1953, in Glendale, AZ, died Friday, December 14, 2018, at his residence.

Mr. Steed worked in retail management at many companies throughout the years.  He took great pride in his work and most recently had worked at Auto Zone for more than 13 years.  He truly enjoyed the many relationships he made there. After many years living in Texas, Ken relocated back to the Belleville area where he loved spending time with his family. He enjoyed fishing, listening to soft rock favorites including but not limited to Kenny G, Phil Collins & Pink Floyd. He loved Mexican food, specifically chili renos, and absolutely loved sci-fi movies and television shows. He was impatiently awaiting the last season of Game of Thrones. Ken was sarcastic and witty and sometimes had an inappropriate or dark sense of humor. He will be missed every single day for the rest of the lives of those who knew and loved him immeasurably!

He was preceded in death by his parents, John M. and Carol M., nee Browning, Steed; and one brother, Jon M. Steed.

Surviving are one daughter, Rachel (Greg) Cole of Belleville, IL;
one son, Aaron Steed (Victoria Mauch) of Millstadt, IL;
two step-children, Tiffany Navel of Redding, CA, and Josh Wells of Round Rock, TX;
six grandchildren, James Cotton IV, Jaecob Cotton, Malyki Cole, Hayden Steed, Bailey Steed, and Teagan Steed;
a sister, Denise (Terry) Voss of Shiloh, IL;
and a very close friend, Homer Martz of Rockwell City, IA.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the family.  Condolences may be expressed to the family online at www.rennerfh.com.

I was saddened to hear of cousin Kenny's passing. He was always the grown-up cousin that we looked up to. I am envious of the honest, hard-working, and full life he lived and offer my condolences to the many people that will miss him. I will turn up the volume when I watch the last season of Game of Thrones so he can listen in.

We didn't know Ken very long, he was our neighbor, but we had a good conversation whenever we saw each other. We waved at each other coming and going. We are so sorry for your loss.
