Kenneth W. Vernier passed away at the age of 55 on Friday, September 16, 2016.

Ken was the beloved son of Kenneth and Dorothy Vernier of Millstadt, IL. He grew up as one of five children, attended Belleville East High School, graduated from Ranken Technical College and was employed by SIU Edwardsville.

His true passions included being with his sons especially watching them play their sports and riding quadrunners, spending time with his parents and siblings on his parent’s farm, Cardinal baseball, boating, and hunting.  His warm nature and big smile was contagious to everyone he met. He will always be remembered for his kindness, generosity, and love for the outdoors. Words can never express how much he will be missed.

Along with his parents, Ken is survived by his wonderful sons, Dawson and Dustin;

Upon reading his obituary in the paper, I was flooded with thoughts about how we played ball with you and your brother and Charlie Horton. We also rooted for the Cardinals.
I also need to thank your Mom for taking my Mom to the hospital when her tumor turned out to be her son (me). I owe your family my life and I thank you so much.
I have seen Donnie at Westhaven before they closed. I spent a lot of time at Westhaven and saw Donnie often because I am married to Kathy Buesch
