Kenny Laut
Print Obituary
Kenny Bob Laut, 67, formerly of Hecker, IL, born May 24, 1956, in Red Bud, IL, passed away Friday, January 26, 2024, at Memorial Hospital, Belleville, IL.

He led a fulfilling life that revolved around ensuring that his two sons were raised with every opportunity to maximize their futures. His infinite wisdom helped guide them through their various life challenges.

Kenny was not the average “soccer dad” that would just shuttle his children to sports games. He was a baseball, basketball, soccer, track, cross country, paintball, golf, Boy Scout, tennis, (and more) dad. Kenny not only took the time to teach and practice with his children, but often volunteered to coach and mentor in one or more of the many leagues that they participated in.

Kenny was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 32 years, Jody E. Laut, who passed away in 2013; his parents, Pierre and Elizabeth Laut; a sister, Kathy; and two brothers, Terry and Tommy.

He was the proud father of former Marine, Keith Laut of Austin TX, and Construction Director, Kevin Laut of Long Beach, CA; brother to Nancy and Judy; and uncle to several nieces and nephews.

Now he can reunite with his wife for an eternity of music, dancing, and laughter.

Memorials may be made to Helmets to Hardhats (H2H), an organization that helps military personnel successfully transfer into civilian careers in the construction trades. Condolences may be expressed to the family online at

Visitation: Friends may visit from 9 to 11 a.m. Saturday, February 3, 2024, at George Renner & Sons Funeral Home, Belleville, IL.

Funeral: Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, February 3, 2024, at George Renner & Sons Funeral Home, Belleville, IL, with Rev. Doug Stewart officiating.

Burial will be at Hecker City Cemetery, Hecker, IL.

Our deepest sympathy to the family and friends of Kenny. Keith and Kevin, our hearts are with you. Your dad was a good hearted and sweet man. We enjoyed every conversation and memory with him. He sent my daughters the most thoughtful hand designed birthday cards and custom books as they grew up and they will be treasured forever in our family.
