Kimberly Shively

Print Obituary
Kimberly Lynn Shively, nee Rogers, daughter of the late Gary R. Rogers and Patricia M. Coombs, was born in Belleville, IL, on February 28, 1972. Kim, one of God’s guardian angels, was taken to the arms of our Heavenly Father on January 10, 2021, at the age of 48 years.  This unforeseen death has left her family, friends, and loved ones grieving the great loss of a wonderful wife, mother, sister, aunt, and friend. Her family and friends will always remember her as a caring and loving person.

Kim loved animals and never met a stranger. She made sure to always remind those close to her that she loved them. She was kind and devoted to her family. She loved bowling, washers, cards, board games, and her all-time favorite, bingo. Simply put, she had a heart of gold.

Kimberly was preceded in death by her father, Gary Rogers, on July 11, 1979; mother, Patricia Coombs, on September 30, 2000; great-aunt, Shelia Wilkinson, on October 29, 2015; and her stepdaughter, Rachel Shively, on August 22, 2017.

Kim was united in marriage to Michael Shively and the two were inseparable. She is survived by her loving husband, Michael Shively of Belleville, IL; daughter, Kathryn Kassing of Bloomington, IL; a brother, Steven (Tammy) Rogers; a stepson, Brendan (Jasmine) Shively; and step granddaughter, Emery. She is also survived by her aunt, Barbara Bova of Fairview Heights, IL; niece and nephew; and two generations of cousins who were very close to her.

Flowers are welcome for those that wish to send condolences. The family requests those who wish to express sympathy to consider making a donation to their favorite charity in Kimberly’s name. Condolences may be expressed to the family online at www.rennerfh.com.

Visitation:  A celebration of Kim’s life will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. Monday, January 18, 2021, at George Renner & Sons Funeral Home, 120 North Illinois Street, Belleville, IL. Please note, due to COVID mitigations, only 10 guests will be allowed in for viewing at one time.  Face masks will be required while attending.
