Friends and family might remember Kris for her elaborate Thanksgiving dinners, as a member of your bowling team, from hours spent dancing to music in her kitchen, as an avid player of the NCAA basketball pools, on rare occasions, as your fishing buddy, and, on less rare occasions, as your drinking buddy.
Kristine and Mark, her husband of 45 years, loved traveling and being with their grandchildren – watching them grow, going to their sporting events and dance recitals. She loved life, her family, reading, sunbathing, listening to the bells of St. Paul’s Church, and music of all types. All of these things could instantly bring a smile to her face. We may have lost Kris, but we will never lose the memory of her smile.
Kristine was preceded in death by her father, Virgil Loesche; and her father-in-law, Robert Winterbauer.
Surviving are her loving husband, Mark Winterbauer, whom she married on March 25, 1973;
one daughter, Melissa (Timothy) Vetter of Glen Carbon, IL;
two grandchildren, Kai and Edie Vetter;
her mother, June, nee Baehr, Loesche of Freeburg, IL;
two sisters, Susan (Greg) Becherer of Freeburg, IL, and Amy (Tom) Drake of New Athens, IL;
her mother-in-law, Barbara Winterbauer of Freeburg, IL;
two brothers-in-law, Wayne (Kathy) Winterbauer of West Mifflin, PA, and John (Lisa) Winterbauer of Freeburg, IL.
Kris will also be forever remembered by her numerous nieces, nephews and extended family and dear friends.
“Because of your smile, you make life more beautiful.”
