Mrs. Kloess was a longtime employee of St. Clair County, working as a secretary in the Office of the State’s Attorney for 30 years. She had previously worked in the Office of the Circuit Clerk for 11 years. Upon her retirement in September 2015, she was awarded proclamations from the Illinois House of Representatives, from the St. Clair County Board, and from the Office of the State’s Attorney.
Laverne was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Belleville, IL.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 35 years, Bernard “Ben” Kloess, whom she married on September 24, 1947, and who died on August 23, 1983; her parents, Elmer and Laurena Louise, nee Wagner, Dinkelmann; three brothers, Kenneth, Norman, and Will Dinkelmann; and her father-in-law and mother-in-law, Edward and Cecilia Kloess.

and Jack Kloess of Belleville, IL;
four grandchildren, Jennifer (Brian) Wagner of O’Fallon, MO,
Whitney (Matt) Aylward of Edwardsville, IL,
Katie (Brad) Kramkowski of Swansea, IL,
and Dan (Brooke) Kloess of Millstadt, IL;
six great-grandchildren, Tyler and Clayton Wagner, Jack Aylward,
and Tommy, Addison, and Avery Kramkowski;
a brother-in-law, Paul (Mary B.) Kloess of Belleville, IL;
three sisters-in-law, Marilyn Dinkelmann, Rosie Dinkelmann, and Nadine Cook;
and nieces and nephews.

Funeral: A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Friday, November 13, 2015, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Belleville, IL, with Fr. Christopher Anyanwu and Msgr. William McGhee concelebrating. Burial will follow at Walnut Hill Cemetery, Belleville, IL.
