Lawrence D. “Larry” Brown, 86, of Freeburg, IL, born October 28, 1936, in Charleston, IL, passed away Friday, March 31, 2023, at his residence surrounded by his family.

Larry was a great plumber for 60 years. He retired with Belleville Plumber and Pipefitters Local 101. He enjoyed playing ball and hunting early in life. After Larry retired, he enjoyed golf and woodworking, making many beautiful items for everyone in the family.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Wilson and Florence, nee Knupp, Brown; his sister, Barbara (Jim), nee Brown, Siemens; his brother, John Brown; and a son-in-law, Tom Fields.

He is survived by his loving wife of 68 years, Doris M., nee Gilstrap, Brown, whom he married on July 18, 1954;
two sons, Steve (Sharla) Brown and Kenny Brown;
two daughters, Janet (Larry) Vogel and Laurie Fields;
three grandchildren, Justin (Carrie) Brown, Emily (R.D.) Durre, and Josh Brown;
four great-grandchildren, Nick Brown, Ella Brown, Archer Brown, and baby Lincoln Durre;
a sister-in-law, Lulu Brown;
and many nieces and nephews.

Memorials may be made to Shriners Hospital for Children. Condolences may be expressed to the family online at www.rennerfh.com.

According to Larry’s wishes cremation services were held.

Burial of cremated remains will be held at Valhalla Gardens of Memory, Belleville, IL, at a later date.
