Mr. Mullins worked at Wagner Electric for 35 years, starting out as a coal fireman and later as a stationary engineer. He retired from the state hospital where he worked for ten years after Wagner Electric moved locations. Leo had a strong work ethic and passed that trait on to his sons, Kevin and Kurt. Throughout Leo’s life, he was an avid outdoorsman. Some outdoor activities included hiking, fishing, and hunting.
Leo served as a troop chaplain for the Boy Scouts of America. He was a devout Christian, a man deep in his faith, and was born again when he was baptized on March 27, 1977. He ministered at area nursing homes for 20 years with his dear friend, Regina Ruiz. They shared songs and sermons with the residents.
He loved watching the St. Louis Cardinals, and when his sons were boys, they all enjoyed a game of catch. Leo kept in shape by walking throughout his 60’s, 70’s, and 80’s. He was a U. S. Korean War Army veteran.
Leo was preceded in death by his wife, RosaLee, nee Hastey, Mullins; his parents, Sidney and Margaret Mullins; a brother, Willis Mullins; and five sisters, Mary Kathryn, Margaret Jane, Helen Orenia, Ruth Premrose, and Jeanette Louise Mullins.
