Leon Iturrian
Print Obituary
Leon “Lee” Iturrian, 72, of Swansea, Ill., died Monday, Aug. 15, 2016, at his residence.

Born and raised on a Wyoming sheep ranch with his brother, Ben, and sisters, Benita and Grace, Lee went on to serve 23 years in the United States Air Force, received multiple honors and retired to work as a government contractor. He received his bachelor’s degree from SIUC and threatened to vote Independent in the upcoming election, although he still took great joy in forwarding anti-Hillary emails.

Lee was an avid karaoke participant with a penchant for Waylon Jennings and took great joy appearing within the local St. Clair County karaoke circuit (aka Zapata’s Restaurant and Geo’s Wings.)  He will be greatly missed.

He is survived by his wife of 17 years, Patsy (Wosylus); his former wife, Pam Schutte and their daughters, Angelina (Freihage), Lisa (Millington) and Jody Iturrian; as well as his beloved grandchildren, Victoria, Garrett, Jackson and Oliver.

Condolences may be expressed to the family online at www.rennerfh.com.

Service:  An informal celebration of life will gather at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 20, 2016, at Geo’s, with all friends invited to attend. We hope Lee has taken the great leap from karaoke to duet, and Patsy Cline was there to catch him.

I knew Lee from our regular Friday night karaoke at Zapata’s. He was so nice and funny and always picked great songs. Sending my thoughts and prayers to all who loved him.

My thoughts and prayers are with your family at this sad time. I have been performing karaoke with Lee for years and always found him to be a very kind, considerate, and gracious gentleman. He will be sorely missed! Especially that wry smile and dry humor he often displayed. Love, Kevin.
