Lydia was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, Tommy E. Dotson, whom she married on April 19, 1952, and who died on September 6, 2009; a son, Randy Dotson; her parents, Fred and Lydia, nee Brumeier, Engelmann; five sisters, Lorraine Steinkamp, Lavera Rakers, Laverta Christ, Laura Sullivan, and Lillian Holtgrewe; a half-sister, Reva Kape; and a half-brother, George Koenig.
Surviving are her children, Thomas (JoAnn) Dotson, Genevieve (Jay) Becker, Ronnie Dotson, Linda Wilson, eight grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.

Burial will be at Neunlist Cemetery, Addieville, IL.
