Maddison Ann Rodriguez, 18, of Belleville, IL, born September 24, 2003, in Belleville, IL, died Sunday, February 13, 2022, in Belleville, IL.

Maddison attended Zion Lutheran Grade School Pre-K thru 8th grade and was a member of the youth group. She was a student at Belleville East High School and was a member of the National Honor Society at school. She was a varsity softball player at East, played first base, and was recipient of the Lancer Medallion Award and Scholar Athlete Award. Maddison also played on the Junior Lancers 16-18 traveling team and was varsity manager for both the Women’s Basketball and Men’s Football teams. She loved softball and started playing at age 4 on the Little Sluggers Baseball Team. Maddison had plans to attend SIUE in the fall with dreams of becoming a defense attorney. She enjoyed Indy Car Racing and attended 11 races. Maddison was a kind, sweet, and beautiful girl. She never met a stranger and loved spending time with her family, friends, and especially her softball teammates.

She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Marjorie Oliver, Ed Rodriguez; an aunt Sandra Dietz; and an uncle Bob Counsell.

She is survived by her father, David L. Rodriguez; her mother, Susan F., nee Oliver, Rodriguez; her grandparents, Kenny Oliver, Jr. and Bernice Rodriguez; two uncles, Neal (Ashley) Oliver, and their son Konnor Oliver, and Rick Rodriguez, and his children Jennifer (Jay) Laue, and their children Jack, Cole, and Ellery;  and Zach (Emily) Rodriguez; two aunts, Tina Braun, and Brenda (John) Hornecker and their children, Andrew Hornecker, Johnny (Laura) Hornecker and their children, Gabrielle, Isabelle, and Johnny; and Mindy (Zach) Harris and their children, Kaden, Landon, Cruz, and Mia; and very close friends, Maicy, Maisey, and Jenna.

A special thanks to Coach Randy Wroten and all of her special coaches that she adored.

Memorials may be made to the Belleville East Softball Program. Condolences may be expressed to the family online at www.rennerfh.com.

Visitation:  Friends may visit the family from 4 to 7:30 p.m. Friday, February 18, 2022, and from 9 to 11 a.m. Saturday, February 19, 2022, at Zion Lutheran Church, Belleville, IL. A celebration of life will be held at 7:30 p.m. Friday, at the church.

Funeral: Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, February 19, 2022, at Zion Lutheran Church, Belleville, IL, with Rev. Brian Downs and Rev. Chris Spelbring officiating.

Burial will be at Lake View Memorial Gardens, Fairview Heights, IL.

Dear Sue and Dave, There are no words to ease your pain. Maddie was a wonderful presence in this world as she inspired the lives of many. Her soul came here to do great things and she succeeded. We are so sorry to hear of Maddi’s passing. Clayton was her partner in Culinary class and said everyone who knew her loved her. As a former East softball parent we are all here for you and enjoyed watching her play last year when I went to games💙🥎 love the boze family

To my niece Susan and Brother Kenny and Neal and family. I will miss seeing Maddison everyday at East. Her smile was beautiful and her personality so sunny. Such a remarkable young lady.
