Mae Bernice Mueller, nee Weissert, 88, of Shiloh, IL, born May 28, 1928, in Belleville, IL, passed away Monday, May 8, 2017, at Memorial Hospital, Belleville, IL.

Mae was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.  She was a member of St. Paul United Church of Christ, Belleville, IL, and of the Women of the Moose Chapter 53, Swansea, IL, where many memories were cherished with Friday Fish Fry’s, Saturday night dancing, and holiday parties.  Mae also was a former member of the Red Hat Society and was known by all for her Sunday pies, birthday cakes, and holiday cookies.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Wilbur E. Mueller, whom she married on August 2, 1948, and who died on January 5, 1994; her parents, Otto and Cora, nee Schmisseur, Weissert; two brothers, Marcel and Otto Weissert; and a sister, Sertella Causey.

Surviving are two sons, Glen J. Mueller of Lebanon, IL,
and Steven W. (Gerry) Mueller of Ballwin, MO;
four grandchildren, Jeffery (Beth) Mueller,
Jeremy (Carol) Mueller, Brandon Mueller,
and Jeanine (Brian) Buehlhorn;
eight great-grandchildren, Madison Mueller, Samantha Mueller,
Christopher Mueller,    Josef Mueller,
Jacob Mueller, Jasin Mueller,
Brooklynn Buehlhorn, and Jaxton Buehlhorn.

Visitation: Friends may visit with the family from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday, May 18, 2017, at George Renner & Sons Funeral Home, Belleville, IL.

Funeral: Funeral services will be at 7 p.m. Thursday, May 18, 2017, at George Renner & Sons Funeral Home, Belleville, IL, with Rev. Herbert Schafale officiating.  Private burial will be held at Lake View Memorial Gardens, Fairview Heights, IL.

My Dad, Cy Weissert, and Mae were 1st cousins. Our paths would sometimes cross over the years, and we connected at the Moose when she and Sertella both were active there. I remember being invited to her 80th birthday party at the Moose. I got to meet both Glen and Steven then. Please accept my sympathy in the loss of your Mom. She was a special lady,
