Marcella “Marcie” Grace, nee Barber, Uhl, 85, formerly of Belleville, IL, born April 22, 1931, in East St. Louis, IL, died Tuesday, May 31, 2016, in Sarasota, FL, of a cerebral hemorrhage.

Marcie was married for nearly 66 years to the love of her life, George M. Uhl. Throughout her married life, she traveled extensively in North America and Europe with George, family, and friends.  She was also active in clubs and service organizations, including the Memorial Hospital Auxiliary, PEO Chapter HR, and the United Methodist Women.  After retiring in Sarasota, FL, Marcie became an avid golfer.  She loved the performing arts, reading, conversing, cooking, entertaining, and gardening, and was admired for her pie-baking skills.  She was a homemaker and had worked as an administrative assistant at Belleville East High School for ten years.

She was a loving wife, daughter, sister, mother, grandmother and great grandmother.  Her four grandchildren, Nicholas (Laura) Uhl, Andrew (Tessie) Uhl, Amanda (Kyle) Rensing, and Aaron (Ashley) Uhl, and seven great grandchildren, Liam and Alana Uhl, Bobby and Scarlett Uhl, Kyan and Bryson Rensing, and Weston Uhl, were the joys of her life.

Marcie was predeceased by her parents, J. B. and Esther, nee Grace, Barber.

In addition to her husband, George, she will be sorely missed by her two beloved sons and daughters-in-law, Jeffrey (Linda) Uhl and George “Skip” (Nancy) Uhl; her dear sister, Barbara Edwards; niece, Patty (Michael) Weidemann; nephew, Ronald (Jeanne) Edwards; and great-nieces and great-nephews.

Visitation:  Friends may visit with the family from 9:30 to 11 a.m. Saturday, July 9, 2016, at Union United Methodist Church, 721 East Main Street, Belleville, IL.

Funeral:  A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, July 9, 2016, at Union United Methodist Church, with Rev. Jay Krumeich officiating.
