Margaret joined the School Sisters of Notre Dame and taught grade school classrooms of 50 pupils in New Orleans. Margie left the convent to have children of her own. She worked at Southwest Bank in St. Louis and lived at Queens Daughters Hall on the Saint Louis University Campus. Margie was a strong, kind, sweet, compassionate person, she loved teaching her children about the importance of having friends, learning, sharing, and always strived to see the best in everyone. She was very active in the Saint Mary’s mother’s club, worked in the cafeteria, volunteered for church picnics and variety of other activities. She was a member of the Bluff Grange in Millstadt, IL.
Member of Saint Mary’s Catholic Church. Family and religion were central in her life. She shared her love of nature (flowers, birds, stars, and gardening) with her children, grandchildren & great-grandchildren. Her spirit of love and kindness inspired all of them and others she knew.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband of over 50 years, Paul T. Kniepmann whom she married on September 30, 1950, and who died on May 2, 2001; her two sons, Joseph and James Kniepmann; her parents, Felix and Henrietta, nee Meyer, Messig, a sister Mary Ann Jannett; a brother, Francis A. (Jan) Messig; and a sister-in-law, Betty (Monroe) Duco.
She is survived by her four children, Kathy (Tom Snider) Kniepmann, Paul A. (Mary) Kniepmann, Lori (Bill) Jansen, and John R. Kniepmann;
five grandchildren, Bill (Jackie) Jansen, Karen (Jason) Holzum, Matthew (Samantha) Jansen, Michael Kniepmann, and Theresa (Fiancé Jason Hager) Kniepmann;
six great-grandchildren, Kinsley and Carter Holzum, Ava, Will, Emily and Wyatt Jansen;
and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation: Friends may visit from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday, April 21, 2023, at George Renner & Sons Funeral Home, Belleville, IL, and from 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday, April 22, 2023, at St. Mary Catholic Church, Belleville, IL.
Funeral: A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, April 22, 2023, at St. Mary Catholic Church, Belleville, IL, with Fr. Michael Arockiam officiating.
Burial will be held at Green Mount Catholic Cemetery, Belleville, IL.
