Marie is our daughter-in-law’s mother. We use the present tense because she is still with us in heaven. My wife and I haven’t met many people as wonderful as she. Marie lived a life to emulate. She and Wayne, married 57 years, raised a wonderful family. There isn’t enough space to cover her good deeds. Su and I will miss her. We loved her dearly We send our deepest sympathy and condolences to Wayne,Sr, and the rest of the extended family. We deeply regret not being able to attend the services. Su can’t travel and I must stay with her.

Love,

Rick and Su Smiley

I’m saddened by the news of my Aunt Marie for she was one of the great ones in our family! I will cherish all my memories of coming to your house, sledding in the backyard and the wonderful smells of your baking, especially your Gooey Butter Cake. Your laughter always made me laugh. I would beg my dad to ride along to go “bumming”, as he called it, to your house and sit at the grown up table to listen to family stories. My prayers to my Uncle Wayne, my cousins and to all those precious grandkids. Fly high Aunt Marie!

Staci and I were shocked to read the news about Marie’s death. I appreciated her gentle spirit so much in my years of ministry at Hillcrest/Crossroads. May her spirit continue to live on in the church and her family.
