Marilee Kay Black, nee Boeving, 75, of Belleville, IL, born December 8, 1942, in Highland, IL, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family, Sunday, June 10, 2018, at Memorial Hospital East, Shiloh, IL.

Marilee was a 1960 graduate of Mascoutah Community High School.  She opened the Belleville Barber College in 1960 with her father, where she worked for more than 30 years. On February 22, 1964, she married Kent J. Black in Mascoutah, IL.  They enjoyed 54 years of life together.  She enjoyed traveling and spending time with her family.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Cornelius and Leona, nee Kebel, Boeving; and a brother-in-law, James Black.

Surviving are her husband, Kent J. Black;
three children, Todd (Kym) Black of Dallas, TX, Scott Black (Kathy Williams) of O’Fallon, IL, and Cheryl (Ellis) Corso of O’Fallon, IL;
her cherished grandchildren, Codie and Hayden Black, Leah and Alyssa Corso, and Kyle Black;
two brothers, Kevin and Tim Boeving;
her step-mother, Betty Johnston;
a sister-in-law, Fran Black;
a niece, Lesa Black-Bachman;
and a nephew, David Black.

The family would like to thank the staff at Mercy Care Center, Memorial Hospital, and especially Dr. Yogi Patel for his dedication and compassion.

Marilee will always be remembered by her warm smile.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation. Condolences may be expressed to the family online at www.rennerfh.com.

Visitation:  Friends may visit from 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, June 13, 2018, at George Renner & Sons Funeral Home, Belleville, IL.

Funeral: A memorial service will be held at 7 p.m. Wednesday, June 13, 2018, at George Renner & Sons Funeral Home, Belleville, IL, with Rev. Herbert Schafale officiating.

Deepest sympathies and our condolences to you and your family. May our bonds of brotherhood and friendship help you in this time of grief. She is forever the mom of a “boat guy” and great shipmate and her loss is felt by the entire 14 family.
