Marilyn A. Witkus, nee Muckensturm, 92, of Belleville, IL, born January 24, 1930, in Belleville, IL, died Wednesday, September 7, 2022, at Memorial Hospital, Belleville, IL.

Marilyn was a friend to all. She was devoted to her Catholic faith and enjoyed the time she spent traveling to religious pilgrimages abroad. She especially loved her brother Charlie and her favorite nephew Mark. Marilyn loved participating in the activities that were offered at her home, at The Shrine. One of her favorite activities was boxing and would often cut a visit short to attend. She loved playing fun card games, she would show great delight in playing and would be especially delighted to win. Marilyn retired from Scott Air Force Base, where she worked as an administrative assistant for 25 years.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Benedict “Ben” P. Witkus, whom she married on, March 25, 1974, at St. Peter’s Cathedral Church, and passed on March 29, 2005; and her parents, Charles and Emma, nee Stockman, Muckensturm, and her mother’s second husband, Adolph Feldt.

She is survived by her brother, Charles (Dixie) Muckensturm of Wildwood, MO; and a nephew, Mark (Jan) A. Muckensturm.

Visitation: Friends may visit from 10 to 11 a.m. Monday, September 12, 2022, at the Apartment Community Chapel at the Benedictine Living Community.

Funeral: A memorial mass will be held at 11:15 a.m. Monday, September 12, 2022, in the Apartment Community Chapel at the Benedictine Living Community, with Fr. Joseph Ferraioli officiating.

Burial will be at Green Mount Catholic Cemetery, Belleville, IL.
