Mr. Mattern worked at Century Brass Co. for his entire career. Mark was a second-generation molder who followed in his father’s footsteps with this trade. He leaves behind a third generation of molders who had learned the same trade under Mark’s guiding hands and heart.
Mark had a vibrant personality and loved to laugh and smile. Mark was always willing to offer a helping hand to anyone he came across. He enjoyed working on vehicles, remodeling homes, and the challenge of fixing anything that needed to be fixed. He thoroughly enjoyed hunting, fishing, and spending time with his dear granddaughter, Jordyn.
Surviving are his wife of 28 years, Lisa Mattern, of Albers, IL; his parents, Gene Mattern and Mary, nee Davis, Magee; two sons, Jacob and Samuel Mattern; a granddaughter, Jordyn Wolford; two sisters, Debbie (Randy) Restoff and Carol Sweet; a brother, Daniel (Anna) Mattern; and many dear nieces and nephews.
