Mrs. Butts found joy in raising her children and helping others. When the children were grown, she finished college and graduated from McKendree University, Lebanon, IL, with a degree in mathematics. She loved sports and enjoyed swimming and tennis.
Marta was preceded in death by her parents, Robert C. and Roselyn L., nee Schmalenberger, Anderson.
Surviving are her husband of 46 years, William J. Butts, whom she married on March 29, 1969;
four children, Christa (Tony) DiPasquale of Belleville, IL,
Joseph R. (Becky) Butts of Muncie, IN,
David T. (Nicky) Butts of Brooklyn, NY,
and James W. (Jessica) Butts of Elmhurst, IL;
seven grandchildren, Max, Mallory, and Ean DiPasquale,
William, Reid, and Jaylan Butts,
and Nolan Butts;
two sisters, Ingrid (Ken) Leask of Aurora, IL,
and Pamela (Michael) Wagner of Bellevue, WA,
two brothers, David (Jan) Anderson of Cape Girardeau, MO,
and James (Susan) Anderson of Bettendorf, IA;
and nieces and nephews.
Heartfelt thanks to some special ladies at Sycamore Village who cared for Marta during her last few years.

Funeral: Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, April 30, 2015, at the funeral home with Rev. Cari Frus officiating. Burial will follow at Valhalla Gardens of Memory, Belleville, IL.
