Mary Francis Gansmann, nee Begole, 100, of Belleville, IL, born December 2, 1914, in St. Louis, MO, died Wednesday, June 24, 2015, at Four Fountains Convalescent Center, Belleville, IL.

Mrs. Gansmann had worked as a library assistant at Althoff Catholic High School for 19 years.  She was a member of St. Peter’s Cathedral Parish, Belleville, IL, and the Perpetual Help Sodality.

Mary was preceded in death by her husband of 49 years, Arthur A. Gansmann, whom she married on February 12, 1936, and who died on May 21, 1985; a son, Roger W.A. Gansmann; a grandson, Brian Vogt; her parents, James and Eliza, nee Williams, Begole; her sister and brother-in-law, Laura (Richard) Gantner; and brother-in-law and sisters-in-law, Quentin (Hazel) Lauer and Anita Mahlmann.

Surviving are two sons and a daughter, Kenneth A. (Jane) Gansmann of Silverthorne, CO,
Gary (Darlene) Gansmann of Millstadt, IL,
and Mary Louise (John) Buss of Belleville, IL;
a daughter-in-law, Betty Gansmann of Washington, MO;
12 grandchildren, Jean Marie Garretson, Roger (Barb) Gansmann,
Rose Marie (Dan) Mantle, Keith Gansmann,
Pam (Kevin) Wunderlich, and Kurt Gansmann, all of Washington, MO,
Scott Gansmann of Steamboat Springs, CO,
Brian Gansmann (Darrin Pyle) of Denver, CO,
Kristi (Jamie) Nowak of Belleville, IL,
Mike (LeAnn) Vogt of O’Fallon, IL,
Jamie Gansmann of Denver, CO,
and Jeff Gansmann of Chicago, IL;
34 great-grandchildren;
and 21 great-great-grandchildren.

Visitation:  Friends may call from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, June27, 2015, at St. Peter’s Cathedral Catholic Church, Belleville, IL.

Funeral:  A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, June 27, 2015, at St. Peter’s Cathedral with Msgr. John Myler officiating.  Burial will follow at Green Mount Catholic Cemetery, Belleville, IL.
