Mrs. McHenry was a devoted military wife for 24 years, a loving mother and grandmother, and dedicated foster parent for 20 years. She worked with the Department of Children and Family Services as a foster parent specialist and was involved with their Angel Tree program and the Toys for Tots campaign where she ran the Christmas parties.
Mary enjoyed reading Danielle Steel books, working crossword puzzles, and solving Soduku puzzles. She was gifted with a crochet hook and created many items. She relaxed watching General Hospital, One Life to Live, All My Children, and visiting with her sister.
Mary was preceded in death by her father, John McGuire; her mother, Joyce, nee Evrit, Host; her mother-in-law, Mary L. McHenry; and maternal grandparents, Walter and Irene Evrit.
Surviving are her husband of 51 years, Louis E. McHenry;
six children, Melissa McHenry, Charity Marie (Brian) Werner, Brian L. (Krystal) McHenry, Sarah (Scott II) Conklin, Michael McHenry, and Scott McHenry;
16 grandchildren, Samantha Allan, Chase Bauer, Natalia Werner, Autumn Werner, Reid Werner, Caden McHenry, Lilly McHenry, Destiny Helton, Julietta Conklin, Maggie Conklin, Phoenix Conklin, Atreus Conklin, Gianna McHenry, Rue McHenry, Alyssa Williams, and Lilyanna Williams:
three sisters, Dorene (Gary) Ferryman, Diane (Chuck) Yarnell, and Connie (Rick) Stidd;
a brother, John McGuire;
and nieces and nephews.
