Maurice E. Hoeffken, 85, of Belleville, IL, born January 21, 1931, in Belleville, IL, died Wednesday, December 7, 2016, at St. Paul’s Home, Belleville, IL.

Maurice was the past president of Hoeffken Bros. Construction Company and Gracious Living Inc.  He was a member of St. Luke’s Parish, Belleville, IL, the Knights of Columbus Council 1028, and the Elks Lodge #481.  Mr. Hoeffken thoroughly enjoyed being on his boat with family and friends and also loved flying.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Edward P. and Kathryn, nee Hebenstreit, Hoeffken; and a granddaughter, Katie Hoeffken.

Surviving are his beloved wife of 65 years, Bernice, nee Grimmer, Hoeffken, whom he married on September 8, 1951;
a son, Edward M. (Deb) Hoeffken of Swansea, IL;
two daughters, Jan (Tom) Shipley of Rolla, MO,
and Jody (Ray) Page of Millstadt, IL;
five grandchildren, E.J. Hoeffken,
Marc and Matt Shipley,
Bernadette Kapes,
and Gwen (Jake) Rodriguez;
and a great-grandson, Chad Betlach.

Memorials may be made to the St. Luke Catholic Church or Heartland Hospice.  Condolences may be expressed to the family online at www.rennerfh.com.

Visitation:  Friends may visit with the family from 12 noon to 1 p.m. Saturday, December 10, 2016, at St. Luke Catholic Church, Belleville, IL.

Funeral:  A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, December 10, 2016, at St. Luke Catholic Church, Belleville, IL, with Msgr. David Darin officiating.
