Mike was born in Decatur, GA, on September 12, 1972. He completed his Electrical Engineering degree at Southern Illinois University at Edwardsville, IL. During his career, he held several engineering positions in Ohio, Missouri, Illinois, and Tennessee. Mike always had such a kind, loving, and respectful personality and will be deeply missed by his family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Roland and Edith Henderson and Otto and Ethel Wegener.
Mike is survived by his wife, Rebecca, nee Lemay, Henderson of Belleville, IL;
his mother, Sue, nee Wegener, Henderson of Belleville, IL;
his father and step-mother, Samuel and Carol Henderson of Fenton, MO;
his sister, Veronica Leigh (Terry) Esker of Belleville, IL;
and his step-sister, Theresa (Aaron) Welti of St. Louis, MO.
Mike has wonderful aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews. All of us have had the priceless joy of sharing our loving husband, son, brother, and uncle.
One of Mike’s favorite prayers is the Serenity prayer:
“God, grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change,
The courage to change the things I can,
And the wisdom to know the difference.”
Mike loved his pets and it would be his wish that any memorials be made to the Belleville Area Humane Society or to a favorite charity. Condolences may be expressed to the family online at www.rennerfh.com.
Visitation: Friends may visit from 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, November 27, 2018, at George Renner & Sons Funeral Home, Belleville, IL, and from 1 to 2 p.m. Wednesday, November 128, 2018, at Christ Our Savior Lutheran Church, Freeburg IL.
Funeral: Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, November 28, 2018, at Christ Our Savior Lutheran Church, Freeburg, IL, with Rev. Bruce Keseman officiating.
Burial will be at Valhalla Gardens of Memory, Belleville, IL.
