Michael Nemeth, 68, of Fayetteville, IL, born September 21, 1949, in Granite City, IL, died Sunday, November 19, 2017, at St. Elizabeth’s Hospital, O’Fallon, IL.

Mr. Nemeth was a retired custodian at Granite City High School. He was a member of the American Legion in Freeburg, IL.  He was a master gardener, an avid fisherman, loved his dogs, and the St. Louis Cardinals. Mr. Nemeth was United States Air Force veteran.

He was preceded in death by his son, Michael Nemeth; his parents, Joseph John and Maxine Ruth, nee Ruemmler, Nemeth; and a brother, Joseph Nemeth.

Surviving are his wife, Drenda Kay, nee Simmons, Nemeth, whom he married on June 10, 2006;
a son, Anthony (Mags) Henley of St. Charles, MO;
three daughters, Amy (Marc) Griffin of Granite City, IL, Angela Bollmann of Barnhart, MO, and Tiffany (Patrick) Smoker of Freeburg, IL;
six grandchildren, Justin Duvall, Sophia and Luke Griffin,Henry Smoker, Hailey and Kassidy Bollmann;
a sister, Karen Huff of Glen Carbon, IL;and many nieces and nephews.

 Memorial Visitation:  Friends may visit with the family from 2 to 3 p.m. Saturday, December 2, 2017 at St. Paul’s United Church of Christ, Freeburg, IL.

Memorial service:  Memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday, December 2, 2017 at St. Paul’s United Church of Christ, Freeburg, IL, with Rev. Earl Crecelius officiating.
