Mr. Phillips was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church, Belleville, IL. He was a United States Air Force veteran. Mike was a huge Chicago Cubs baseball fan and NASCAR fan.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Paul “Hopper” and Elizabeth “Betty”, nee Gain, Phillips; a brother, Thomas Phillips; his mother-in-law and father-in-law, Shirley Amos-Walters and Everett Amos; two brothers-in-law, Chuck Staff and Danial Amos; and a sister-in-law, Gloria Dalton.
Surviving are his wife, Barbara, nee Amos, Phillips; two daughters, Julie (Daniel) Anderson and Laura (John) Thoman; three grandchildren, Logan Anderson, and Gracyn and Declan Thoman; three sisters, Mary Jo (Jon) Teague, Beth (Jeff) Buehlhorn, and Ellen Staff; a brother, Paul (Margie) Phillips; two brothers-in-law, David (Becky) Amos and Gary Amos; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Funeral: A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday, June 1, 2022, at St. Mary Catholic Church, Belleville, IL, with Fr. Michael Arockiam officiating.
Burial with military honors will be at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery, St. Louis, MO.
