Michelle was a fueling supervisor for Airport Terminal Services at Mid-America Airport in Mascoutah, IL, since 2003. She was the owner/operator of Struttin’ Inn in Lebanon, IL, from 1988 to 1995, managed Easy Street in New Baden, IL, in the late 1990’s, and managed The World Famous Piper Inn in Aurora, CO, in the late 1980’s. Michelle was in her second year at Southwestern Illinois College pursuing her degree in business management.
She was a strong, hard-working, and independent woman with an entrepreneurial and creative mind, and she was a pool shark. She played in the Clinton County Pool League since 1994 and could beat anyone. Her hobbies and interests included riding her horse, taking in stray critters, nursing wild animals back to health (including a homing pigeon that showed up in their yard one day), and releasing them back into the wild. She also enjoyed unique arts and crafts, refurbishing furniture, organic gardening, hunting, and fishing. She recently was able to realize her dream of owning a small farm which came with a horse and dog.
