Nikki Lyn Vogel, nee Abromovich, 72, of Freeburg, IL, born September 26, 1948, in East St. Louis, IL, passed away peacefully Friday, July 2, 2021, at St. Elizabeth’s Hospital, O’Fallon, IL, surrounded by her loving family.

Mrs. Vogel received a commercial art degree from Southern Illinois University, Carbondale, and worked in the advertising department of the Belleville News Democrat, along with numerous other businesses in the area. She later earned a degree as a physical therapist assistant and worked in that field for 24 years.

Nikki was an exceptional artist and enjoyed working with stained glass. She also enjoyed music and singing in her spare time.  She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Freeburg, IL.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Nicholas and Betty, nee Walker, Abromovich; and a sister, Ann Marie Walker.

Surviving are her loving husband of 45 years, Robert Vogel, whom she had a very spiritual connection with;
two sons, Adam (Tamara) Vogel, and Nick (Jennifer) Vogel;
four grandchildren, Lochlan, Niven, Clancy, and Layne;
a niece, Elaine Kane;
two nephews, Andy Abromovich, and Matt Abromovich;
and a dear cousin, Sharon Rokita.

Memorials may be made to St. Joseph Catholic Church, Freeburg, IL, or to the Shriners Hospital for Children, St. Louis, MO. Condolences may be expressed to the family online at www.rennerfh.com.

Visitation:  Friends may visit from 9 to 11 a.m. Friday, July 9, 2021, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Freeburg, IL.

Funeral:  A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, July 9, 2021, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Freeburg, IL, with Father Von Deeke officiating.

Burial of cremains will be at a later date.

My sincere sympathy for your loss. A loving wife, mother, and grandmother is now an Angel to watch over you all God Bless and keep yo through this difficult time. Nikki. I know your gone, but I can still feel you here. Out memories began in our cradles and continued a lifetime. I love you, I miss you, and I will always remember. Goodbye, my dear friend, Goodbye.
