Nina L. Harbison, nee Troutman, 98, of Smithton, Il, born April 23, 1924, in Black, MO, died Thursday, February 16, 2023, at St. Elizabeth’s Hospital, O’Fallon, IL.

Nina retired as foreman after 27 years at the Belleville Shoe Manufacturing Co. She was a dedicated member of St. John’s United Church of Christ of Smithton IL, and the Ladies Guild at the church. Nina was a proud member of the American Legion Auxiliary Post #937, the Smithton Senior Center, Smithton Turner Ladies and the Smithton Sportsman Auxiliary.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 33 years, Delmar Harbison, whom she married on October 31, 1944, and who died on January 10, 1978; her parents, Raymond and Mary, nee Miller, Troutman; four brothers, Ralph (Delsie) Troutman, James (Sue) Troutman, and Carter (Joann) Troutman and Elnoah Troutman in infancy; three sisters, Louise (Donald) Carty, Betty (Bill) Edwards, and Rayma (James) Midyett; two sons-in-law, Tony Becherer and James Bazzel; a daughter-in-law, Karon Harbison; and a granddaughter-in-law, Dani Harbison.

She is survived by one son, Gary Harbison of Smithton, IL;
two daughters, Kay Bazzel of Smithton, IL, and Debi (Joel) Boeving of Smithton, IL;
six grandchildren, Dale (Lisa) Becherer, Kimberly Quirin, Gary B. (Gina) Harbison, Brad Harbison (fiancé Chrissy Vogt), Jamie (Chris) Joseph, and Joel (Holly) Boeving;
12 great-grandchildren, Ashley (Andrew) Pfeil, Kayla Quirin (fiancé Tom Banks), Sawyer Becherer (Emily Dierks), Lily Becherer (Jayce Pennington), Bryon Harbison, Bryce Harbison, Gretta Harbison, Olivia Joseph, Wes Harbison, Molly Harbison, Mia Boeving, and Brooks Boeving;
two great-great grandchildren, Axton and Abram Pfeil;
and many nieces, and nephews.

Visitation:  Friends may visit from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, February 21, 2023, and from 9 to 11 a.m. Wednesday, February 22, 2023, at George Renner & Sons Funeral Home, Belleville, IL.

Funeral: Funeral Services will be held at 11a.m. Wednesday, February 22, 2023, at George Renner & Sons Funeral Home, Belleville, IL, with Deacon Corby Valentine officiating.

Burial will be held at Smithton Cemetery, Smithton, IL.

Kevin & I wish we could be there. Nina will always be remembered for the many wonderful things she contributed to many people's lives. She has a beautiful & loving family and Nina touched so many people's lives in a positive way. Prayers for comfort to Nina's family. You're home now Nina, happy Heavenly reunion.

Please accept our deepest sympathy. Have many fun memories of Nina & your dad from dances at Turner Hall . She was a hard working person in all the organizations she belonged to. She loved her family and doing things with them. Nina will be missed by many.
