He was preceded in death by his parents, Henry and Josephine, nee Jansen, Theismann; a brother, Harold Theismann; and four sisters, Marlene Underwood, Ruth Scheibel, Esther Renth, and Linda Kaffer.
Surviving are a daughter, Lynn Laaker; a son, Mark (Kindra) Theismann; his former wife, Verna Theismann; four grandchildren, Sara (Jory) Knernschield, Jim Laaker, Maria Laaker, and Eric Theismann; five sisters, Pat (Art Fix) Richter, Jane (Louis Sindel) Dressler, Joyce Campbell, Ginny (Dave) Brutto, and Joan Newport; a sister-in-law, Dorothy Theismann; a brother-in-law, Ken Kaffer; and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral: A memorial mass will be held at 11:30 a.m. Friday, November 18, 2022, at the church, with Msgr. Norbert Ernst officiating.
Burial with military honors will be at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery, St. Louis, MO.
