Print Obituary
Patricia “Patti” Lynn Kreher, nee Self, 66, of Freeburg, IL, born August 28, 1956, in Belleville, IL, died Saturday, November 19, 2022, in Winston-Salem, NC.

Patti was joined in death by her loving husband of 43 years, Joseph C. Kreher Jr., whom she married on April 6, 1979; and preceded by her parents, William Sr. and Vernita (June), nee Logan, Self.

Patti was a devout parishioner of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Freeburg, IL. Professionally, Patti and Joe’s legacy is their joint ownership and operation of General Machine, Inc. where Patti served as Chief Financial Officer and Vice President; there, they enjoyed great success that they generously shared. Alongside General Machine, Patti retired in her career as a Physical Therapist Assistant. Patti and Joe lived vibrant lives, spending much of their free time traveling together or entertaining their many friends. Patti’s proudest and dearest accomplishment of all was her children and grandchildren, and she would create every opportunity to spend time with them making memories. Patti will be loved, missed, and remembered by so many as a doting mother, “Meemaw,” sister, and friend.

Surviving are her two sons, Brian Joseph (Catherine) Kreher and Daniel John Kreher; a daughter, Amy Lynn Crean; four grandchildren, Louis and Hattie Jo (Amy) Crean, and twins, Harper Florence and Emery Josephine (Brian) Kreher; two brothers, William (Jane) Self and Keith (Stacey) Self; two sisters, Barbara Starks and Karen Gass; and many nieces, nephews, extended family, friends, and employees.

Memorials may be made to St. Joseph Catholic Church, Freeburg, IL. Condolences may be expressed to the family online at www.rennerfh.com.

Visitation: Friends may visit from 3 to 8 p.m. Sunday, November 27, 2022, and from 9 to 10 a.m. Monday, November 28, 2022, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Freeburg, IL.

Funeral: A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, November 28, 2022, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Freeburg, IL, with Fr. Von Deeke and Deacon Corby Valentine officiating.

Burial will be at St. Paul’s Cemetery, Freeburg, IL.

Aunt Mary called me to inform my brother Rod & me know about your parents. We were so shocked to learn of the accident. Your Mom Patti & we are cousins--our Mom was your Grandpa Self's youngest sister (Mom suddenly passed away April 21st at 90). Too many losses. All our prayers are with you & your families. Just know that your Mom & Dad are together. Bless you & take care.

I worked with Patti many years ago in the PT dept at St. Elizabeth's Hospital. I have always remembered her even though we did not stay in contact with each other. She had such a happy personality. I am so very sorry for your tragic loss. May knowing they are together in heaven give you some comfort. Keep their memory alive so all their grandchildren feel them close and know they are watching over them. Prayers for strength for all of you.

The Kreher home was a beautiful stopping place for precious girls on grand adventures. - How privileged I feel to have known Amy and her parents ! I send so much love and prayers to the family on the loss of such special parents. - So much love wraps around them right now. I pray all the children and grandchildren and family feel the warmth of that very same love. Love from a fellow mom, Laurie

Our Dearest Cousin, Patricia, (Patti Lynn), you've left our hearts BROKEN, w/ very little understanding of this Loss! We're Not supposed to Question God's Reasoning but will struggle getting over this! We've only recently reconnected, after being raised distantly in our childhood! I will cherish the notes on the computer from YOU about your Beautiful Grandbabies, & your Grown Children! Thanks for Sharing your Memories, Sweetheart! You Are So Loved! xoxoxoxo

Monday at the exact hour you are laying your beloved parents/ grandparents/ friends to rest marks the 21st anniversary of our two parents dying in a plane crash in IL. They were the only two on board, and Dad put the plane down, missing a house and a school bus just unloading. The circumstances are eerily similar. If you ever need to talk to a family who has truly been there, please reach out. We will hold you in our hearts, and lift you up in prayer. Our comfort came from knowing they were together, doing what they love, on their way to family. May they rest in peace, and may their memory be a blessing. I imagine our dad and yours sharing plane stories!! Sending love from Pittsburgh

We will miss the pictures that they shared of their adventures in being parents and grandparents. You earned your Angel wings and will be together forever. ❤️
