Paul retired in 1998 from Monsanto, Sauget, IL. He spent his retirement years camping at Rend Lake. Paul enjoyed NASCAR and watching the St. Louis Cardinals.
He was preceded in death by his father, Edgar Bruehl; his mother, Rosa, nee Schwartz, Bruehl; two sisters, Bernice Vogt and Beatrice Green; and a brother, Floyd Bruehl.
Surviving are his wife of 39 years, Deborah K., nee Deitz, Bruehl, whom he married on June 15, 1981; two daughters, Cheryl (Raymond) O’Neil of Shiloh, IL, and Cynthia (Bill) Rullan of Suwanee, GA; two stepchildren, Jeffery (David Crockett) Oaks of Shiloh, IL, and Stacey (Alan Banks) Schaefer of Freeburg, IL; four grandchildren, Josh (Stacey) Oaks, Brandon (Hannah) Oaks, Kyle Schaefer, and Cole Schaefer; five great-grandchildren; and a sister, Patricia LeFever of Colorado Springs, CO.
