Mrs. Nephew worked at Peerless Premier Appliance Company as a stove mounter before her retirement. She was a member of St. Teresa Catholic Church, Belleville, IL. She enjoyed gardening and raising roses in her own yard. Mrs. Nephew was also an avid Cardinal baseball fan.
She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Christina, nee Scholl, Hupp; and a brother-in-law, Ray Stuhr.

two sons, Steven (Barbara) Nephew of Belleville, IL,
and Scott (Valerie) Nephew of O’Fallon, IL;
four grandchildren, Joseph Nephew of Belleville, IL,
Michelle Nephew of St. Louis, MO,
Mandy Nephew of O’Fallon, IL,
and Lucas Nephew of O’Fallon, IL;
three brothers, Virgil (Sharon) Hupp of Ewing, NE,
Lee (Anita) Hupp of Norfork, NE,
Roman (Pat) Hupp of Oakdale, NE;
two sisters, Barbara Stuhr of Columbus, IL,
and Reola Volgman of WI;
and nieces and nephews.
Visitation: Friends may visit with the family from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday, May 5, 2017 at George Renner & Sons Funeral Home, Belleville, IL. Friends may also visit from 9 to 10 a.m. Saturday, May 6, 2017 at St. Teresa Catholic Church, Belleville, IL.
Funeral: A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, May 6, 2017, at St. Teresa Catholic Church, Belleville, IL. Burial will be at Green Mount Catholic Cemetery, Belleville, IL.
My deepest sympathy to Jim and the family. Philame was one of the kindest people I have ever known. She was truly gifted in raising flowers, especially roses.
